Tom Duff Gordon, Coinbase's vice president of international policy, has parted ways with the US-based cryptocurrency exchange after nearly four years. He is set to join OpenAI as head of EMEA Policy, according to a Coinbase spokesperson. Prior to his tenure at Coinbase, Duff Gordon spent 8.5 years in banking at Credit Suisse. His departure was noted, although he did not immediately provide comment.

As a specialist in cryptocurrency regulations, Duff Gordon had previously highlighted the issue of UK banks restricting access to compliant services for millions of customers, due to their failure to differentiate between low-risk, FCA-registered firms and higher-risk operators.
