Alchemy, a leading cryptocurrency infrastructure provider, has launched AgentPay, a revolutionary tool that enables AI payment systems from prominent companies like Coinbase, Stripe, Visa, Mastercard, and Circle to interact and transact with one another. This development addresses the pressing issue of interoperability, where disparate payment systems cannot communicate, forcing merchants to establish separate integrations for each protocol.

According to Alchemy CTO Guillaume Poncin, 'AgentPay resolves this issue by providing a single integration point, allowing merchants to register their existing API and receive a new endpoint, through which any agent on a supported protocol can facilitate payments.' As a key player in the Web3 space, Alchemy is often referred to as the 'AWS of Web3' due to its comprehensive infrastructure, developer tools, and node services that support the development of blockchain applications. AgentPay functions as a translation layer, routing instructions between parties without handling funds directly. This solution has significant implications for the burgeoning field of agentic finance, which is expected to play a vital role in internet payment activities, including micro-transactions and nano-payments between AI agents and humans.

Following a private beta launch, Alchemy plans to release AgentPay to the general public in the coming weeks.
