Tom Duff Gordon, formerly the vice president of international policy at Coinbase, a leading US-based cryptocurrency platform, has made the decision to leave the company after nearly four years of service. According to a statement from a Coinbase representative, Duff Gordon has joined OpenAI as the head of EMEA Policy. Prior to his tenure at Coinbase, Duff Gordon spent over eight years working in banking at Credit Suisse. He was unavailable for comment at the time of the announcement.
As an expert in cryptocurrency regulations, Duff Gordon had previously highlighted the issue of UK banks restricting access to compliant and legal services for millions of customers, due to their failure to differentiate between low-risk, FCA-registered firms and higher-risk operators.
