Alchemy, a leading cryptocurrency infrastructure provider, has introduced AgentPay, a revolutionary tool that enables AI payment systems from prominent companies like Coinbase, Stripe, Visa, Mastercard, and Circle to interact with each other. This innovation addresses the long-standing problem of agentic payment systems being unable to communicate with one another, which had forced merchants to develop separate integrations for each protocol. According to Alchemy CTO Guillaume Poncin, 'AgentPay solves this issue by allowing merchants to register their existing API with us, and we provide them with a new endpoint that enables any agent on any supported protocol to make payments through it.' As a prominent player in the Web3 space, often referred to as the 'AWS of Web3,' Alchemy provides essential infrastructure, developer tools, and node services for building blockchain applications. By promising a single integration for all protocols, including x402, MPP, A2P, and L402, AgentPay acts as a translation layer, routing instructions without touching the funds.

This development is particularly significant in the emerging field of agentic finance, which is expected to become a major component of online payments and involves micro-transactions or nano-payments between AI agents, often with human oversight. Following a private beta soft launch, Alchemy is planning a general release in the coming weeks.
