Tom Duff Gordon, who served as Coinbase's vice president of international policy for nearly four years, has departed the US-based cryptocurrency exchange. According to a Coinbase spokesperson, Duff Gordon has joined OpenAI as head of EMEA Policy.
Prior to his time at Coinbase, Duff Gordon spent 8.5 years working in banking at Credit Suisse. Despite his expertise in crypto regulations, Duff Gordon did not respond to requests for comment on his move. Notably, he had recently highlighted the issue of UK banks restricting access to compliant services, failing to differentiate between low-risk, FCA-registered firms and higher-risk operators.
