Tom Duff Gordon, formerly the vice president of international policy at Coinbase, a prominent U.S.-listed cryptocurrency exchange, has made the decision to leave the company. After nearly four years with Coinbase, Duff Gordon has joined OpenAI as the head of EMEA Policy, as stated by a company spokesperson. Prior to his tenure at Coinbase, Duff Gordon spent approximately 8.5 years working in banking at Credit Suisse. He has not yet responded to a request for a statement.

As an expert in cryptocurrency regulations, Duff Gordon had recently highlighted the issue of U.K. banks restricting access to lawful and compliant services for millions of customers, due to their failure to differentiate between low-risk operators registered with the Financial Conduct Authority and those posing a higher risk.
