Tom Duff Gordon, a veteran executive who served as Coinbase's vice president of international policy, has parted ways with the US-based cryptocurrency exchange. Following a nearly four-year tenure at Coinbase, Duff Gordon has joined OpenAI as the head of EMEA Policy, as disclosed by a Coinbase representative.

Prior to his role at Coinbase, Duff Gordon spent over eight years working in banking at Credit Suisse. His departure was noted, although he did not provide immediate comment. As a specialist in cryptocurrency regulations, Duff Gordon had previously highlighted the issue of UK banks restricting access to compliant services for millions of customers, due to their failure to differentiate between low-risk, FCA-registered firms and higher-risk entities.
