Patrick Witt, the primary crypto adviser to the White House, expressed confidence that a compromise on stablecoin yield would endure, facilitating the progression of the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act in the U.S. Senate.

In a CoinDesk TV interview, Witt, who serves as the executive director of the President's Council of Advisors for Digital Assets, stated that several other issues are being addressed behind the scenes. The stablecoin yield compromise, which had been a point of contention, appears to be intact, with Witt describing it as a 'must-have' before moving on to other outstanding issues. The Clarity Act had faced multiple potential obstacles, including concerns over illicit financial protections in the decentralized finance space and a request to bar senior government officials from profiting from the crypto sector.

Witt noted that significant progress has been made in resolving these issues, with many having already been settled. A markup hearing in the Senate Banking Committee is required before the Clarity Act can proceed to a final Senate vote. The White House has downplayed the threats posed by stablecoin yield, while the American Bankers Association has countered with concerns. Witt acknowledged that bankers have varying views on the matter, depending on their proximity to the technology.
