Tom Duff Gordon, previously the vice president of international policy at Coinbase, a prominent US-listed cryptocurrency platform, has made the decision to move on. After nearly four years with Coinbase, Duff Gordon has taken up a new position as head of EMEA Policy at OpenAI, as confirmed by a spokesperson for the company via email. Prior to his time at Coinbase, Duff Gordon spent 8.5 years working in banking at Credit Suisse. He has not yet responded to requests for comment on his new role.
As an expert in cryptocurrency regulations, Duff Gordon had recently highlighted the issue of UK banks restricting access to legitimate and compliant services for millions of customers, due to their failure to differentiate between low-risk, Financial Conduct Authority-registered firms and higher-risk operators.
