The White House's primary crypto advisor, Patrick Witt, indicated that efforts are underway to solidify the compromise he believes will propel the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act forward in the U.S. Senate. In a CoinDesk TV interview, Witt suggested that the bipartisan agreement on stablecoin yield appears to be holding, stating, "We're hopeful that the compromise that has been reached will be durable and will hold." This development comes after bankers had raised concerns about the potential impact on their deposit base. The Clarity Act has faced multiple challenges, including illicit financial protections in the DeFi space and a request to bar senior government officials from profiting from the crypto sector.

While Witt did not disclose the specific topics that have been resolved, he noted that negotiations have made significant progress, saying, "We're very close to closing them out." The Clarity Act requires a markup hearing in the Senate Banking Committee before it can proceed to a final Senate vote. A recent White House report downplayed the banking sector's concerns regarding stablecoin yield, prompting a response from the American Bankers Association.

Witt acknowledged the diverse views among bankers, stating, "They're grappling with it... some of them are going to view stablecoins more positively, while others will be more threatened by them."
