Tom Duff Gordon, who served as the vice president of international policy at Coinbase, a leading U.S.-based cryptocurrency exchange, has made the decision to leave the company after nearly four years of service. According to a statement from a Coinbase representative, Duff Gordon has joined OpenAI, where he will assume the role of head of EMEA Policy.
Prior to his tenure at Coinbase, Duff Gordon spent over eight years working in banking at Credit Suisse. Despite his recent departure, Duff Gordon had been a prominent voice in the realm of crypto regulations, having highlighted the issue of U.K. banks restricting access to lawful and compliant services due to their failure to differentiate between low-risk, FCA-registered firms and higher-risk operators.
