Alchemy, a leading cryptocurrency infrastructure provider supporting numerous blockchains and firms, has launched AgentPay, a revolutionary tool that enables various AI payment systems from prominent companies like Coinbase, Stripe, Visa, Mastercard, and Circle to interact seamlessly. This innovation addresses the pressing problem of current agentic payment systems being unable to communicate with each other, necessitating merchants to establish separate integrations for each protocol. According to Alchemy CTO Guillaume Poncin, 'This approach is unsustainable and will only lead to further fragmentation as more systems emerge.' AgentPay resolves this issue by allowing merchants to register their existing API, which Alchemy then uses to create a new endpoint, facilitating payments from any agent on supported protocols.

Recognized as the 'AWS of Web3,' Alchemy provides essential infrastructure, developer tools, and node services for building blockchain applications. By positioning itself as a translation layer, AgentPay ensures that Alchemy never directly handles funds, routing instructions instead.

This development is particularly significant in the realm of agentic finance, which is poised to become a cornerstone of internet payment activity and involves micro-transactions or nano-payments between AI agents, often with human oversight in the background. Following a private beta soft launch, Alchemy is planning a general release in the coming weeks.
