Alchemy, a leading provider of cryptocurrency infrastructure, has introduced AgentPay, a groundbreaking tool that enables various AI payment systems from prominent companies such as Coinbase, Stripe, Visa, Mastercard, and Circle to interact with one another. This innovation addresses the current problem of agentic payment systems being unable to communicate with each other, resulting in merchants having to establish separate integrations for each protocol. According to Alchemy CTO Guillaume Poncin, 'AgentPay solves this issue by allowing merchants to register their existing API with us, and we provide them with a new endpoint that enables any agent on any supported protocol to make payments through it.' As a pioneer in providing infrastructure, developer tools, and node services for building blockchain applications, Alchemy is often referred to as the 'AWS of Web3.' AgentPay promises to simplify the process by offering a single integration for multiple protocols, including x402, MPP, A2P, and L402, with Alchemy acting as a translation layer that routes instructions without touching the funds. The emergence of agentic finance, which is expected to play a significant role in internet payments, involves micro-transactions and nano-payments between AI agents and humans.
Following a private beta launch, Alchemy plans to release AgentPay to the general public in the coming weeks.
