Patrick Witt, the primary crypto adviser to the White House, stated that efforts are ongoing to cement a compromise that will facilitate the progression of the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act in the U.S. Senate.

In a recent interview with CoinDesk TV, Witt expressed optimism that the bipartisan agreement on stablecoin yield will endure, allowing for the resolution of other outstanding issues. The Clarity Act has faced several potential roadblocks, including concerns over illicit financial protections in the decentralized finance space and a proposal to bar senior government officials from profiting from the crypto sector. While Witt did not disclose the specifics of the topics that have been resolved, he noted that significant progress has been made in the background, giving him confidence that the remaining issues can be addressed. The Clarity Act requires a markup hearing in the Senate Banking Committee before it can proceed to a final Senate vote.

The White House and bankers have been engaged in a debate over the potential risks posed by stablecoin yield, with the White House economists recently downplaying the threats and the American Bankers Association countering with concerns over the potential impact on the banking sector.
