Alchemy, a leading cryptocurrency infrastructure provider supporting numerous blockchains and industry firms, has introduced AgentPay, a revolutionary tool enabling disparate AI payment systems from prominent companies like Coinbase, Stripe, Visa, Mastercard, and Circle to interact seamlessly. This new tool resolves the pressing issue of agentic payment systems currently lacking interoperability, resulting in merchants having to establish separate integrations for each protocol.
According to Alchemy CTO Guillaume Poncin, 'This approach is unsustainable and will only lead to further fragmentation as more systems emerge. AgentPay addresses this problem by allowing merchants to register their existing API with us, and we provide a new endpoint that enables any agent on a supported protocol to make payments through it.' As a pivotal player in the Web3 ecosystem, often regarded as the 'AWS of Web3,' Alchemy furnishes the necessary infrastructure, developer tools, and node services for building blockchain applications.
AgentPay promises to streamline integrations across various protocols, including x402, MPP, A2P, and L402, by serving as a translation layer that routes instructions without directly handling funds. The burgeoning field of agentic finance, poised to become a cornerstone of online payment activity, involves micro-transactions and nano-payments between AI agents and humans.
Following a private beta soft launch, Alchemy aims to release AgentPay to the general public in the coming weeks.
