Patrick Witt, the primary crypto adviser to the White House, has stated that efforts are underway to solidify a compromise that will facilitate the progression of the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act in the U.S. Senate. In an interview with CoinDesk TV, Witt expressed optimism that the recently reached common ground on stablecoin yield will endure, allowing for the resolution of other outstanding issues. The Clarity Act has faced several obstacles, including concerns over illicit financial protections in the decentralized finance space and a request to bar senior government officials from profiting from the crypto sector.

While Witt did not disclose the specific topics that have been settled, he noted that considerable progress has been made in the background, giving him confidence that the remaining issues can be resolved. The Clarity Act requires a markup hearing in the Senate Banking Committee before it can proceed to a final Senate vote. A recent report by White House economists downplayed the threats posed by stablecoin yield, prompting a response from the American Bankers Association.

Witt acknowledged that the banking sector has a wide range of views on the issue, depending on their proximity to the technology.
