Patrick Witt, the primary crypto adviser to the White House, has stated that efforts are underway to solidify a compromise that could propel the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act forward in the U.S. Senate. In a recent interview on CoinDesk TV, Witt expressed optimism that the common ground reached on stablecoin yield will remain intact, paving the way for addressing other outstanding issues.

The Clarity Act had faced several potential obstacles, including concerns over illicit financial protections in the decentralized finance space and requests to bar senior government officials from profiting from the crypto sector. Witt noted that significant progress has been made in resolving these issues, with many having already been settled.

The Clarity Act will require a markup hearing in the Senate Banking Committee before it can proceed to a final Senate vote. A recent report by White House economists downplayed the threats posed by stablecoin yield, prompting a response from the American Bankers Association.

Witt acknowledged the diverse views among bankers, depending on their proximity to the technology, and expressed confidence in the ability to resolve the remaining issues.
