Tom Duff Gordon, who served as the vice president of international policy at Coinbase, a prominent U.S.-listed cryptocurrency platform, has made the decision to move on. Following nearly four years at Coinbase, Duff Gordon has taken on a new role as head of EMEA Policy at OpenAI, as disclosed by a Coinbase representative.
Prior to his tenure at Coinbase, Duff Gordon spent 8.5 years working in banking at Credit Suisse. He has not yet responded to a request for comment on his departure.
As an expert in cryptocurrency regulations, Duff Gordon had previously highlighted the issue of U.K. banks restricting access to compliant services for millions of customers, due to their inability to differentiate between low-risk, Financial Conduct Authority-registered firms and higher-risk operators.
