Tom Duff Gordon, a long-time executive at Coinbase, has made the move to OpenAI, taking on the role of head of EMEA Policy. Gordon, who served as vice president of international policy at the US-based cryptocurrency platform for nearly four years, departed to join the AI firm.
Prior to his tenure at Coinbase, Gordon spent over eight years working in banking at Credit Suisse. His expertise in cryptocurrency regulations had recently highlighted the issue of UK banks restricting access to compliant services due to their failure to differentiate between low-risk, FCA-registered firms and higher-risk operators.
