Tom Duff Gordon, who served as the Vice President of International Policy at Coinbase, a prominent US-listed cryptocurrency platform, has made the decision to leave the company. Following nearly four years at Coinbase, Duff Gordon has taken on a new position as Head of EMEA Policy at OpenAI, as disclosed by a Coinbase spokesperson via email.
Prior to his tenure at Coinbase, Duff Gordon spent approximately 8.5 years working in banking at Credit Suisse. He has yet to respond to a request for comment on this development. As an expert in cryptocurrency regulations, Duff Gordon had previously highlighted the issue of UK banks restricting access to lawful and compliant services for millions of customers, due to their failure to differentiate between low-risk, Financial Conduct Authority-registered firms and higher-risk operators.
