Tom Duff Gordon, who served as vice president of international policy at Coinbase for nearly four years, has made the move to OpenAI to lead their EMEA policy efforts, according to a statement from a Coinbase representative. Prior to his tenure at Coinbase, Duff Gordon spent over eight years working in banking at Credit Suisse. His departure was noted, although he did not provide immediate comment.
As an expert in cryptocurrency regulations, Duff Gordon had previously highlighted the issue of UK banks restricting access to compliant and lawful services for millions of customers, due to their failure to differentiate between low-risk, FCA-registered firms and higher-risk operators.
