Alchemy, a leading cryptocurrency infrastructure provider, has introduced AgentPay, a revolutionary tool that enables AI payment systems from prominent companies like Coinbase, Stripe, Visa, Mastercard, and Circle to interact with one another. This development addresses the pressing issue of fragmentation in the emerging landscape of agentic payment systems, where a lack of standardization hinders seamless transactions.

According to Alchemy CTO Guillaume Poncin, the current state of affairs, where merchants must establish separate integrations for each protocol, is unsustainable. AgentPay offers a solution by providing a single integration point for multiple protocols, including x402, MPP, A2P, and L402, thereby acting as a translation layer that facilitates communication between AI agents and merchants without requiring Alchemy to handle funds. As the Web3 ecosystem continues to evolve, with Alchemy at its core, the emergence of agentic finance is poised to transform the payments landscape, with AgentPay playing a pivotal role in enabling efficient, micro-transaction-based interactions between AI agents and human users.

Following a private beta launch, Alchemy is gearing up for a general release of AgentPay in the near future.
