Alchemy, a leading provider of cryptocurrency infrastructure, has introduced AgentPay, a groundbreaking tool that facilitates collaboration between various AI payment systems from prominent companies such as Coinbase, Stripe, Visa, Mastercard, and Circle. This innovation addresses the long-standing problem of incompatibility between these systems, which has hindered their ability to interact with one another.

As a result, merchants were forced to develop separate integrations for each protocol, a process that is both time-consuming and unsustainable. According to Alchemy CTO Guillaume Poncin, 'AgentPay resolves this issue by providing a single integration point for all supported protocols, allowing merchants to register their existing API and receive a new endpoint that enables any agent on any supported protocol to make payments through it.' As a pioneer in the Web3 space, Alchemy is often referred to as the 'AWS of Web3' due to its comprehensive suite of infrastructure, developer tools, and node services. AgentPay promises to simplify the process by acting as a translation layer, routing instructions without directly handling funds.

The emergence of agentic finance, which is poised to become a crucial component of online payment activity, involves micro-transactions and nano-payments between AI agents, often with human oversight in the background. Alchemy has initiated a private beta launch, with plans for a general release in the coming weeks.
