Alchemy, a leading cryptocurrency infrastructure provider, has launched AgentPay, a revolutionary tool that facilitates seamless interactions between AI payment systems from prominent companies such as Coinbase, Stripe, Visa, Mastercard, and Circle. This breakthrough solution addresses the long-standing problem of agentic payment systems being unable to communicate with one another, necessitating separate integrations for each protocol.
According to Alchemy CTO Guillaume Poncin, "The current fragmentation is unsustainable, and AgentPay provides a solution by allowing merchants to register their existing API and receive a new endpoint, enabling any agent on a supported protocol to make payments through it." As a pioneer in the Web3 space, Alchemy is often regarded as the "AWS of Web3" due to its comprehensive infrastructure, developer tools, and node services. AgentPay promises to simplify the process by offering a single integration for multiple protocols, including x402, MPP, A2P, and L402, with Alchemy acting as a translation layer that routes instructions without touching the funds.
The emergence of agentic finance, which is poised to become a cornerstone of online payment activity, involves micro-transactions and nano-payments between AI agents and humans. Following a private beta soft launch, Alchemy is gearing up for a general release in the coming weeks.
