Alchemy, a leading provider of cryptocurrency infrastructure, has introduced a groundbreaking tool called AgentPay, designed to facilitate collaboration between disparate AI payment systems from prominent companies such as Coinbase, Stripe, Visa, Mastercard, and Circle. This novel solution addresses the pressing issue of incompatibility among current AI payment systems, which often fail to communicate with one another. As a result, merchants seeking to integrate AI agents into their customer base are forced to develop separate integrations for each protocol, a process that is both cumbersome and unsustainable.

According to Alchemy's CTO, Guillaume Poncin, 'AgentPay resolves this issue by providing a single integration point for all supported protocols, thereby streamlining the process and eliminating the need for multiple integrations.' By registering their existing API with Alchemy, merchants are provided with a new endpoint, enabling any agent on a supported protocol to seamlessly conduct transactions through it. As a pioneer in the Web3 space, Alchemy is often regarded as the 'AWS of Web3' due to its comprehensive suite of infrastructure, developer tools, and node services tailored for building blockchain applications. AgentPay functions as a translation layer, routing instructions while ensuring that Alchemy never handles the funds. This development is particularly significant in the realm of agentic finance, which is poised to become a dominant force in internet-based payment activities and often involves micro-transactions or nano-payments between AI agents, with humans playing a background role.

Following a private beta soft launch, Alchemy is gearing up for a general release in the coming weeks.
