Alchemy, a leading cryptocurrency infrastructure provider supporting numerous blockchains and industry firms, has introduced AgentPay, a revolutionary tool enabling disparate AI payment systems from prominent companies like Coinbase, Stripe, Visa, Mastercard, and Circle to interact seamlessly. This new solution addresses the pressing issue of agentic payment systems lacking interoperability, resulting in merchants having to establish separate integrations for each protocol. According to Alchemy CTO Guillaume Poncin, 'This approach is unsustainable and will only become more fragmented as additional systems emerge.' AgentPay resolves this issue by allowing merchants to register their existing API, which is then provided with a new endpoint, facilitating payments from any agent on supported protocols. As a key player in the Web3 space, Alchemy is often regarded as the 'AWS of Web3' due to its comprehensive infrastructure, developer tools, and node services for building blockchain applications.

AgentPay promises to simplify integrations for protocols such as x402, MPP, A2P, and L402 by acting as a translation layer, routing instructions without directly handling funds. The emergence of agentic finance, anticipated to become a cornerstone of online payment activity, involves micro-transactions and nano-payments between AI agents and humans. Following a private beta launch, Alchemy is gearing up for a general release in the coming weeks.
