Alchemy, a leading provider of cryptocurrency infrastructure, has introduced AgentPay, a revolutionary tool designed to facilitate collaboration between various AI payment systems from prominent companies such as Coinbase, Stripe, Visa, Mastercard, and Circle. This innovation addresses the current lack of interoperability among agentic payment systems, which are becoming increasingly prominent. Previously, merchants were required to establish separate integrations for each protocol, a process deemed unsustainable.

According to Alchemy CTO Guillaume Poncin, "AgentPay resolves this issue by allowing merchants to register their existing API with us, and we provide them with a new endpoint, enabling any agent on a supported protocol to make payments through it." As a key player in the Web3 space, often referred to as the 'AWS of Web3,' Alchemy offers essential infrastructure, developer tools, and node services for building blockchain applications. AgentPay promises to simplify the process by requiring only one integration for all protocols, acting as a translation layer that routes instructions without Alchemy handling the funds.

This development is significant, given the anticipated growth of agentic finance, which is expected to play a major role in internet payments, including micro-transactions and nano-payments between AI agents and humans. Alchemy has initiated a private beta launch, with plans for a general release in the coming weeks.
