Industry representatives from the crypto and banking sectors are scheduled to meet with legislative staff on Thursday and Friday to examine the revised compromise language regarding stablecoin yield provisions in the market structure bill, according to three sources familiar with the plans. The compromise language, led by Senators Angela Alsobrooks and Thom Tillis, was first viewed by industry representatives last week, and although it banned yield based solely on stablecoin balances, it allowed companies to pay out yield based on activities, prompting some concerns from the crypto industry. The release of the bill's text, initially expected this week, has been postponed. Earlier reports indicated that some parts of the language were still being negotiated, with the crypto industry seeking largely technical adjustments to clarify details.

The actual changes made and the release date of the text to the public remain unclear. Senator Cynthia Lummis expects a markup hearing later in April, where lawmakers will debate the bill and possible amendments. Other outstanding concerns include the definition and regulation of decentralized finance and the involvement of U.S. President Donald Trump's family with various crypto projects.
