The US Securities and Exchange Commission is on the verge of unveiling a proposed 'regulation crypto' that will outline its approach to overseeing the cryptocurrency sector, SEC Chair Paul Atkins announced on Monday. The proposal, which is currently under review by the White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, aims to draw a clear line between transactions that are deemed securities and those that are not. Atkins revealed that the commission's new regulation will focus on the Securities Act of 1933 and address fundraising and startup exemptions, among other key issues.

He also indicated that the SEC plans to introduce its long-awaited innovation exemption soon, which will allow for experimentation within a defined framework without disadvantaging established companies. Atkins emphasized the importance of congressional support, encouraging the audience to engage in the upcoming election to ensure that cryptocurrency-friendly representatives are elected.
