Alchemy, a prominent cryptocurrency infrastructure provider, has launched AgentPay, a groundbreaking tool that facilitates collaboration between various AI payment systems from leading companies such as Coinbase, Stripe, Visa, Mastercard, and Circle. This solution addresses the pressing issue of agentic payment systems' lack of interoperability, where merchants are currently required to establish separate integrations for each protocol. According to Alchemy CTO Guillaume Poncin, 'AgentPay resolves this issue by allowing merchants to register their existing API with us, providing them with a new endpoint that enables any agent on a supported protocol to make payments through it.' As a key player in the Web3 space, Alchemy is often referred to as the 'AWS of Web3' due to its provision of essential infrastructure, developer tools, and node services for building blockchain applications.
AgentPay promises to simplify the integration process for merchants, supporting multiple protocols such as x402, MPP, A2P, and L402, and acting as a translation layer that routes instructions without touching the funds. The emergence of agentic finance, which is expected to play a significant role in online payments, involves micro-transactions and nano-payments between AI agents and humans.
Alchemy has initiated a private beta launch, with plans for a general release in the coming weeks.
