Alchemy, a prominent provider of cryptocurrency infrastructure, has introduced AgentPay, a groundbreaking tool designed to facilitate collaboration between disparate AI-powered payment systems from leading companies such as Coinbase, Stripe, Visa, Mastercard, and Circle. This innovation addresses the current lack of interoperability among these systems, which would otherwise require merchants to establish separate integrations for each protocol.

According to Alchemy CTO Guillaume Poncin, "The current situation is unsustainable and will only become more fragmented as new systems emerge. AgentPay resolves this issue by allowing merchants to register their existing API with us and providing them with a new endpoint, enabling any agent on supported protocols to make payments through it." As a key player in the Web3 space, often referred to as the 'AWS of Web3', Alchemy offers essential infrastructure, developer tools, and node services for building blockchain applications.

AgentPay promises to simplify the integration process for various protocols, including x402, MPP, A2P, and L402, by acting as a translation layer that routes instructions without directly handling funds. The emergence of agentic finance, which is poised to become a major component of online payments, involves micro-transactions and nano-payments between AI agents and humans. Following a private beta launch, Alchemy plans to release AgentPay to the general public in the coming weeks.
