Alchemy, a leading provider of cryptocurrency infrastructure, has launched AgentPay, a revolutionary tool designed to facilitate communication between various AI payment systems from prominent companies such as Coinbase, Stripe, Visa, Mastercard, and Circle. This innovation addresses the pressing issue of current agentic payment systems being unable to interact with one another, resulting in merchants having to develop separate integrations for each protocol. According to Alchemy CTO Guillaume Poncin, "This approach is unsustainable and will only become more fragmented as additional systems emerge." AgentPay offers a solution by allowing merchants to register their existing API, which is then provided with a new endpoint, enabling any agent on supported protocols to make payments through it. As a renowned "AWS of Web3", Alchemy provides essential infrastructure, developer tools, and node services for building blockchain applications.

AgentPay ensures a single integration for all protocols, including x402, MPP, A2P, and L402, by acting as a translation layer that routes instructions without Alchemy handling the funds. The emergence of agentic finance, anticipated to become a cornerstone of internet payments, involves micro-transactions and nano-payments between AI agents and humans. Alchemy has initiated a private beta launch, with a general release slated for the coming weeks.
